The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Department of Islamic Development (JAKIM) have joined hands to tackle the spread of videos promoting deviant teachings in the country.
In an official statement, MCMC highlighted the urgency and emphasised the need to tackle irresponsible actions, especially concerning the circulation of videos from neighbouring countries that have gained traction on social media platforms.
To ensure effective handling of the situation, MCMC will promptly refer any complaints received regarding the dissemination of content promoting deviant teachings to JAKIM for thorough evaluation and assessment.
