KUCHING: One-word and three-word reviews were made by die-hard Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans on the announcement on plans for the media franchise’s widely-anticipated Phase Four.

The long-awaited list of movies going into MCU’s Phase Four was recently announced yesterday during the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2019 at San Diego Convention Centre, San Diego, in California, United States.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed that Phase Four will include 10 movies and Disney+ TV series that will debut in 2020 and 2021.

The line-up are Black Widow (May 1, 2020), Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Fall 2020), The Eternals (November 6, 2020), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (February 21, 2021), WandaVision (Spring 2021), Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (May 7, 2021), Loki (Spring 2021), What If…? (Summer 2021), Hawkeye (Fall 2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (November 5, 2021).

Feige also teased sequels to Black Panther and Captain Marvel, and a third Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) movie while announcing that Blade would be joining the MCU. While there is no timeframe to when these movies would be released, he said that Black Panther 2 is in the making and GotG 3 is on the way.

To further entice the crowd, he also hinted that Marvel Studios might be working on Fantastic Four as well as ‘mutants’ — hinting their possible involvement within the X-Men universe.

Sarawakian freelance videographer Jerry Foo shared his excitement with New Sarawak Tribune yesterday when he read the news from his phone with only one word to sum up his thoughts, “HYPED!”

“I am glad that they (MCU) decided to focus on a few characters from the films into a Disney+ TV series,” he said.

Mabel Magdelyna, a mass communication student who woke up to the news of MCU’s plans for Phase Four, said that she could not be happier about the announcements.

“I was literally speechless when I read the news from my phone, knowing that Marvel never disappoints its fans.

“With these amazing reveals, I have the money to show my love to them,” she said.

Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology graduate Joel Kyle gave a three-word review to the Phase Four slate, “I love it!”

“I have just woken up that time and the first thing I checked on my phone was Instagram where I saw my friend’s Instagram stories regarding MCU Phase Four news,” he explained.

Fans have been on the edge of their seats, waiting for the announcement of MCU’s Phase Four. It was heart-breaking to most fans when they received news that in last year’s SDCC, Marvel Studios had no intention on teasing fans on their plans for Phase Four.

Phase Four will be the fourth part of the MCU, with Spider-Man: Far From Home that was released earlier this month closing out Phase Three that was — along with Phase Two and Phase Three — known as the Infinity Saga.
