ASAJAYA: Sarawak needs to find a mechanism to speed up the implementation of projects that have been approved in the state, said Datuk Rubiah Wang.
The Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) said the matter was because Sarawak was a little behind in terms of project implementation.
“So, with the allocation channeled through the Budget 2024, we need to find a mechanism to speed up the implementation of the approved project.
“The matter is important because indirectly, it can help open up rural areas and, thus, can improve facilities including water and electricity supply, rural roads, rural access roads and others,” she said.
The Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament said this when met during the Perdana Outdoor Literacy programme in conjunction with the Maulidur Rasul Celebration 1445 Hijrah/2023 at Darul As-Solihin Mosque, Kampung Sambir, here, today.
On the Budget 2024, Rubiah added that the increase in allocations for KKDW will also lead to many more game changers, especially in rural areas.
“We will design more programmes that can have a positive impact on the community in the area,” she said.
In another development, when asked about the complaints of users that the route to Puspakom Kota Samarahan is too far, Rubiah stressed that she was aware of the matter.
“I heard the complaints of people who want to go to the Puspakom. This matter has been discussed with the administrative management of the division, which is Kota Samarahan Resident, Kota Samarahan district officer and the Public Works Department (PWD).
“The resolution is that they will identify efforts to improve the route system to Puspakom. In the near future, there may be actions taken by the authorities,” she explained.
