KUALA LUMPUR: Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB) Group chief executive officer Datuk Mohammad Medan Abdullah has received the Asia Pacific Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award from KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific.
The award is given to individuals in recognition of significant contributions to the country, society and business community, in the past as well as currently.
The award was conferred by the Governor of Penang Tun Datuk Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak, at a special event held at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the Asia Economic and Entrepreneurship Summit 2022 on Tuesday.
Following the receipt of the award, Medan joins a list of distinguished recipients who include Tun Ahmad Fuzi, David Morris, vice chair of the UN ESCAP Sustainable Business Network for the Asia Pacific, Datuk Ho Fong Lee, founder president of Malaysia China Ho Chamber of Global Commerce, Prof. Datuk Dr. Chin Yew Sin, chairman of BIOPLUS Life Corporation, USA among several others.
Commenting on the award, Medan said, “I am extremely honoured and humbled to receive such a highly acclaimed award. This award is in fact a recognition to the whole BPHB team for their hard work and dedication, which is evident by BPHB having good performance in 2021, and the recently announced Q1, 2022 results. It goes without saying that I could not have done it without all my dedicated team.
“We will continue to remain focused and strive hard to bring BPHB to greater heights. Ultimately, enhancing shareholders’ value is our main objective. On my part, I will continue to dedicate my service to the nation as I have done since joining Petronas in 1982.”
Medan took the helm at Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd Group (BPHB) in 2017, bringing with him a global outlook based on his vast experience of over 30 years in the global oil and gas industry.
He established the current Vision, Mission, Shared Values statements of BPHB and formulated the key forward looking corporate strategies of the Group and invested a lot of efforts to mentor and guide the management and staff of BPHB.
