KUCHING: Meradong district has turned red after recording 67 locally transmitted cases in the past two weeks.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in a statement today, said Betong and Kanowit districts had changed to orange status after recording 22 and 37 locally transmitted cases respectively in the last 14 days.
“Kuching, Samarahan, Julau, Subis, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu districts remained as red zones after recording a total of 2,036 locally transmitted cases in the past 14 days.
“Song, Bukit Mabong, Beluru, Dalat, and Sri Aman districts still remained orange after recording a total of 142 locally transmitted cases in the last 14 days,” it added.
It also revealed that Sarikei, Lundu, Bau, Matu, Selangau, Saratok, Sebauh, Tatau, Pakan, Serian, and Belaga districts remained yellow after recording 62 locally transmitted cases in the last 14 days.
Meanwhile, 13 districts remained as green zones.
The Sarawak Health Department today also announced the end of the Bah Sayap Cluster in Miri district.
“For the last 28 days, there were no locally transmitted cases recorded here. Since the first case was detected, 1,047 people had been screened and 96 had tested positive while 951 were negative.
“All the 96 positive cases had been discharged and no fatality was recorded in this cluster,” it added.
