BINTANGOR: A total of 33 students who excelled in the 2022 Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) examination and 121 successful university applicants in Meradong have received incentives from their assemblyman.
The incentive distribution, totaling RM38,200, by Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, was held during a ceremony at the SMK Meradong Hall on Thursday.
He is confident the support and recognition would further boost the spirit of all students, motivating them to continue striving for success in the future.
“This marks the seventh year that such incentives have been presented,” said, adding the excellence achieved by these students is not solely the result of individual efforts but also with the support of teachers.
Earlier, he received a courtesy visit from the Sg Tulai Bintangor Community Association and the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Ulu Meradong at the Meradong Service Centre.
Among the topics discussed with the association, led by its chairman Lung Eng Ming, was the construction of the Sg Tulai Bintangor Haemodialysis Centre.
Following that, be received a courtesy visit from members of the SK Ulu Meradong PTA, led by Principal Julia Berandi, to discuss the construction of a badminton court at the school.
He then had a brief meeting with tuai rumah David Nyalin to inquire about the status of the construction of new longhouses in Tanah Putih.
Meanwhile, he also received an invitation from the Meradong Football Club treasurer Ahmad Udin, to officiate the football tournament in conjunction with the Bintangor Festival 2023, scheduled for Saturday (Sept 23) at the Bintangor Sports Complex.
