LAWAS: Merapok FC emerged champion of the Women Futsal Championship after defeat other 14 teams in a futsal championship organised by Sarawak Special Affairs Department (JASA) with the cooperation of the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) Youth wing of Bukit Sari branch. Merapok FC won the title after beat Meriting Villa 4-2. Merapok started the match in style to score two goals in the first half.
In the second half time, Merapok FC continued their onslaught against Meriting Villa which resulted in two own goals off lapses by the latter’s defence. But Meriting FC’s women fought back to score two goals in a two minute blitz.
The joint third place were shared by Wawasan United and Padian teams. Bukit Sari JASA Officer Haji Kadir Bayan and Lawas parliamentary officer Herwan Hizam Haji Hamdan officiated the prize giving ceremony. Also present were Bukit Sari PBB Youth Chief, Midun Haji Nasip and all exco members of the Bukit Sari PBB Youth.
