Methodist churches lend a helping hand

KAPIT : Kapit District Methodist Social Concern Committee on Monday evening presented cash assistance amounting to RM2,700 to 20 needy recipients.

Of the recipients, there were two  families and  18 students. 

The two families  belonged to Iba Anak Babai and Kong Sien Ching respectively;  each family received RM480 respectively.

Kong   is facing acute financial constraints after her husband became bedridden following a   road accident in Miri last year. She has three children to support.

Meanwhile, the 18 needy students are Dorie Anak Marissa, Linalin Anak Limbi and Alexson Abol of SJK © Hock Lam, Peter Sonray Anak Tanek, Jeetendra Julan Anak Gurkha, Jackline Anak Kevin, Gilbert lee Anak Joshua Muda, Edward Anak Ikau, Dewi Anak Abdul, Frezilla Linggi, famella Vanessa Anak Uyong, Slyvester Kenawang Anak John, Shwan Anak Jessica Entam, Kuni Anak Merang, Juliana Anak Simon, William Langgong Anak Judas, Roseline Manyi Anak Jarup and Faizilla Anak Uji from SMK Kapit 2. They received RM100 each respectively.

Officiating at the presentation of the cash assistance  at the Methodist Church hall was Pastor Hii Siang Cheng who is in charge of the Kapit Methodist Hock Ing Church.

Also present were Kapit District Methodist Social Concern Committee members led by its chairman, Ting King Yiing.

The money for the needy was contributed by the various Methodist churches in Kapit. There are 14 Methodist Churches in Kapit.
