KUCHING: The central and southern parts of Sarawak are expected to face extended periods of thunderstorms and heavy rain until the end of this month, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
In a weather forecast issued at noon yesterday, MetMalaysia indicated that wind convergence is anticipated in Sabah and Sarawak until August 31.
“This situation has the potential to produce thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain for an extended period, especially in the Federal Territory of Labuan, western Sabah, as well as central and southern Sarawak,” it said.
Elsewhere in the country, thunderstorms with heavy rain and strong winds are also likely throughout the week.
