MGTF Sarawak taekwondo exponents win one gold, two silver

MUKAH: The Malaysian Global Taekwondo Federation (MGTF) Sarawak successfully brought home one gold and two silver medals at the 1 Legacy International Taekwondo League 2024, held at SJKC Chung Kuo Melaka recently.

Taekwon-Do Tunas Mukah Club head coach Zaidi Morshidi stated that they only sent two participants to the tournament.

“In addition to this achievement, MGTF Sarawak also received the Best Performance Award during the tournament.

“I personally did not expect to receive that award, considering we only sent two participants,” he told reporters.

He noted that the gold medal was won by Rifa Rosidi from SJKC Chong Boon in the sparring event, while Rifqi Rosidi secured two silver medals in sparring and individual pattern.

Both young participants were accompanied by their parents.

A total of 350 participants took part in the tournament, including competitors from China and Taipei.

Additionally, there was one participant from Sarawak, Muhammad Izzadtul Syafiq, representing the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), who managed to win one silver and one bronze medal.

Both medals were in the sparring and team sparring events.
