By MAYA GREEN
I once went to the Mike’s barn
A Czarina home in North Carolina
Prettily sat, right next to Shoal Creek
Which happily flows leisurely by
This place is located in Violet
Which is just outside of Murphy
A far cry from my own hamlet
In Bario, where the days are windy
The river that we first fished on
It was, I was told the Hiawasee
But of fishes, we didn’t catch any
Save at Fire Creek, where we were on!
In all the excitement throughout
Of man versus his game
We both each, caught a trout
Salving, any sense of shame
And if I remember correctly, too
We also fished late in the evening
On the Nottely River, so true
And under the moonlight, whistling
