PADAWAN: Members of the Veterans Association of Malaysian Armed Forces (PVATM) Mambong Branch play a role in helping to enhance harmony at the village level.

Sarawak Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil said PVATM also acts as a bridge to the welfare network between the government and the community at the grassroots level.

“This is through the spirit of mutual cooperation which can strengthen friendships and community unity at the village level.

“I also urge PVATM to continue its efforts and enthusiasm in looking after the welfare of the community, especially to combat the threat from the spread of drug addiction,” he said during the 10th PVATM Mambong Branch Annual General Meeting here.

At the event, he also handed over a Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund totalling RM30,000 to PVATM.

The meeting was attended by 120 out of 130 PVATM Mambong Branch members to hear the development and direction of the association in the future.
