By Maya Green
Do always take the high road
No matter what others may say
Alas, of the narrow and straight road
Not many will take it, I’d dare say
Remember those who’ve helped you
For they have not forgotten you
In a world of multiplicity
Don’t lose sight, of the underlying unity
Do the twirling, like that of the dervishes
For it will remind you of the centre
Modern man has been a plunderer
Unlike a true vicegerent, he’s full of excuses
The destruction, and profanation of nature
Of vile abominations, is his drama
It is an indictment, and a manifestation
Of modern man’s own, spiritual pollution
Yes, be mindful of the centre
For it’s the axis of your existence
Your twirling around it, is a reminder
A solemn dance of persistence
