KUCHING: As the Central Coordinating Agency, SME Corp Malaysia has produced a miniseries drama to guide start-ups and microenterprises in Malaysia.
According to the State SMR Corp director, Esmawady Mohd Esa, the initiative is in line with 2017 as the Start-up and SME Promotion Year.
“The miniseries aims to attract and encourage more Malaysians, especially youths, to consider entrepreneurship as one of the career options to be explored,
“It is an outreach initiative to disseminate information about the programmes and assistance provided by various Ministries and Agencies to SMEs, as well as to provide useful information to SMEs in developing their business,” Esmawady said.
Miniseries drama Chor & Chah is now available through social media (YouTube) since 1 August, 2017. This drama, produced by Suhan Movies, will feature Saharul Ridzuan, Ummi Nazeera, Ruhainies, Hafreez Adam, Luqman Hafiz and Kazar as the actors and actresses.
Among the agencies involved in the drama are SME Bank, MARA, DDEC, FAMA, MARDI, MAMPU, SSM and Pos Malaysia.
For the first season of this drama, it focuses on incentives, grants, requirements and steps for starting a business that should be taken by new entrepreneurs, especially youth who want to venture into the world of entrepreneurship.
“To ensure more detailed information on SME development programmes can be disseminated to the entrepreneurs, SME Corp. Malaysia intends to produce the second season of this drama.
“The second season of this drama will be focusing on incentives and assistance provided by the Government for entrepreneurs to expand their business until they penetrate the global market,” he added.
To date, MAMPU, TERAJU, TEKUN, CGC, SME Bank, MATRADE and Telekom Malaysia have confirmed their involvement in the second season of this drama.
