Minister advises public to be wary of surging Covid-19 cases abroad

PUSA: The public have been urged to remain vigilant in light of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases overseas, said Deputy Community Welfare Minister Mohammad Razi Sitam.

The Saribas rep also advised Sarawakians to keep abreast of the latest information from the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Apart from the Covid-19 infections, Mohammad Razi also cautioned the public to be cautious of the current hot and humid weather and avoid excessive sun exposure.

He made these remarks during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering in Kampung Medang yesterday (May 3).

The minister stressed the need for the people, especially in the Saribas constituency, to comply with the guidelines issued by the Health Ministry.

Meanwhile, during the event, Kampung Medang head Shafiee Lugom requested for the upgrading of their community hall’s facilities.

In response, Betong Member of Parliament Dr Richard Rapu, who was also present said the matter would be discussed with Mohammad Razi.

In his speech, Mohammad Razi congratulated the organisers on the successful organisation of the Hari Raya gathering.
