AUSTRALIA: Education, Innovation and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn recently led a Sarawak delegation to SynGenis, a biotechnology company in Bentley, Australia.
SynGenis is known as a leader in nucleic acid synthesis and oligonucleotide manufacturing.
The discussion between the delegation and the company centred on potential partnership to produce oligonucleotides for treatment, drug delivery, and diagnostics, showcasing Sarawak’s commitment to innovation in healthcare and pharmaceutical research.
Next, the delegation visited the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA) in Nambeelup.
FIPWA, renowned for its cutting-edge facilities, fosters industry innovation, driving business growth and transforming manufacturing industry in Western Australia.
The delegation learned about FIPWA’s unique business model and its latest biotechnology.
The delegation visited Curtin University, Perth. Welcomed by vice chancellor Professor Harlene Hayne and senior staff, they received insights into Curtin’s progress, latest developments, and future plans on both Curtin Perth and Curtin University Malaysia.
The comprehensive tour of the university campus provided an opportunity to discuss potential collaborations in education, research, and innovation.
