MUKAH: A four-wheel-drive vehicle ferrying subsidised cooking oil, a controlled item, without proper documentation was seized on Saturday (May 21).
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry officers found the vehicle carrying packets of subsidised cooking oil without paperwork, as required under the Control of Supplies Act, 1961.
“The vehicle was carrying or in possession of 15 boxes of subsidised cooking oil that contained 225 packets of one kilogram cooking oil.
“The vehicle stopped at a premises in a residential area in Mukah town for an unidentified purpose.
“Immediately after the vehicle owner failed to show any licence or valid document regarding the ownership of the controlled goods, the vehicle and the goods were confiscated,” said a ministry spokesperson.
The seized controlled items were valued at RM637.50 and the Chevrolet Colorado LTZ vehicle valued at RM40,000.
