KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from Matthew Dominic Barin, the Sarawak Director of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, in Demak Jaya, yesterday morning.
The purpose of the courtesy visit was to introduce him as the new Sarawak Director and senior officials in the ministry.
Matthew served at the Sarawak National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN) for three years before reporting for work on October 3 at the Ministry.
According to Matthew, in Sarawak there are nine Ministry branches in Kuching, Sri Aman, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang and two sub branches in Lawas and Serian.
Also present was the Ministry’s Sarawak Chief Enforcement Officer, Peter J Berinus Agang.
