MIRI: The state government is committed to empowering women micro-entrepreneurs and improving their socio-economic status.
Minister for Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK), Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said that they must seize the opportunities provided by the state government for financial assistance in order to generate income.
The government has initiated various programmes to support women, not only by providing capital but also by offering skill training in entrepreneurship development and life skills.
“The government has made all the necessary facilities available for you to decide,” she said.
Fatimah said this during an engagement programme with women at Dynasty hotel here on Monday.
“We are granting capital to women micro-entrepreneurs and providing financial assistance to women who are heads of households. Additionally, we allocate funds to women non-governmental organizations (NGOs), all with the aim of empowering women in the state,” she added.
Deputy Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus was also present at the event.
