ASAJAYA: The Utility and Telecommunication Ministry has vowed to solve recurrent electricity supply disruptions which have been troubling residents in and around here.

Minister Datuk Julaihi Narawi said efforts to improve the electricity supply were being carried out together with Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and Syarikat Sesco Berhad (SESCO).

“Among the efforts made include building the Asajaya 33/11kV substation which started operating on Dec 30, 2021.

“In addition, efforts are also being made to connect underground cable lines – the installation is also expected to be completed by June this year.

“Therefore, we hope that this will stabilise electricity supply in the area,” he said after a work visit to the Asajaya 33/11kV substation on Saturday.

The Asajaya 33/11kV substation is connected to the Kota Samarahan B substation and will be connected to the MID 33/11kV substation through an underground cable.

The Asajaya 33/11kV substation was built at a cost of RM15 million to meet the increased load in Asajaya, Beliong, Sadong Jaya and surrounding areas.
