KUCHING: The Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development will organise a family camping programme in Pugu, Lundu, in conjunction with the National Family Month.
According to Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, the two-day camp on Nov 16-17 would be based on a family camping concept.
“Various activities aimed at strengthening family bonds will be organised as we want to foster a spirit of togetherness within families,” she said after officiating at the Santubong Parliamentary Badminton Tournament at the main administration block of Kuching Polytechnic here today (Nov 3).
Nancy said the programme would be enhanced by the presence of Amir Jahari, an artist from Kuching who will share his life experiences.
She said Amir, as an influencer, will inspire participants by sharing the life challenges he has faced.
“His story about struggle, motivation, and commitment to achieve success is expected to inspire participants.
“Amir is an example of someone who has managed to balance family commitments and career, and we hope his presence will attract more families to join this programme,” she added.
With a fee of only RM80 per camping site, which can accommodate three to four people, participants can experience camping while participating in various interactive and motivational activities.
The ministry encouraged the public to obtain more information through social media platforms promoting the upcoming event.
Every year November is declared National Family Month to support and recognise family support systems that will contribute to the development of a prosperous nation.
Introduced in 2012, it has become an annual event organised by the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development through its agency, the National Population and Family Development Board.
