KUCHING: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) will monitor the issue of the supply of eggs from a Malaysian company that were withdrawn twice by Singapore following the detection of Salmonella Enteritidis (SE).
Its minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said his ministry will monitor and take action on the matter to ensure the supply in the local market is not affected.
“Enforcers will monitor and take action if needed. We will not let this become a problem,” said Nanta.
He said at a press conference after the Malaysia Prihatin programme at the Waterfront Hotel here today (March 20).
Nanta said the recall of eggs imported from Malaysia to Singapore previously involved only one producer.
He explained that the issue has been addressed by his ministry.
