MIRI: A charitable aerobics sports event, “Miri AeroBIGday”, held at Miri Open Stadium recently, successfully collected and donated RM2,564.31 to the Pertubuhan Kebajikan Komuniti Terpinggir Sarawak.
The event, attended by over 400 participants from diverse ethnicities, was inaugurated by Miri mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang.
“The physical and mental health of the people is always a priority and concern for the Sarawak government,” said Yii.
“However, the Sarawak government requires support from all sectors, especially the private and corporate sectors, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) third objective, which is the health and wellbeing of society,” he added.
Yii also commended the organisers, Life Event Borneo and JVY Event Management Company, for setting an exemplary standard in arranging meaningful community activities.
He expressed gratitude for the active participation of Miri residents and hoped for increased engagement in future community events.
Ryan Jee, chairman of the organisers, encouraged collaboration from state and federal ministries, government-linked companies, and corporations in Miri.
He urged them to join hands in organising various corporate social responsibility activities, fostering a sustainable, harmonious and healthy society in Sarawak.
