MIRI: The Miri Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) recently announced that Miri Borneo Medical Centre (BMC) will be administering the AstraZeneca (AZ) Covid-19 vaccine to those who have yet to be fully vaccinated.
The committee said the centre has started to administer the vaccine from Wednesday (Sept 1). Recipients will have to make appointment in advance before receiving their jabs.
“Recipients who have received the first dose of the vaccine at the Miri National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) AstraZeneca vaccination centre (PPVAZ) can contact Miri Borneo Medical Centre at 012-5849335 to make an appointment.
“Those who received their AZ vaccines at other places besides the medical centre, please send an email to jknswkcovid19@gmail.com.
“Do include your name, identity card number, phone number, date and location where you have received your first AZ vaccine,” Miri DDMC said in a statement.
The statement added that the approved names of recipients will be sent to Miri BMC and appointments for the second dose will be informed by the medical centre.
Transport Minister and minister-in-charge of Miri DDMC, Datuk Lee Kim Shin has talked about this matter during an online meeting with Sarawak Disaster management Committee (SDMC) via Zoom on Monday (Aug 30).
“I have already informed the matter during an online meeting with SDMC to allow recipients to get their second dose of the AZ vaccine after Miri IKBN PPVAZ ended its operation on Aug 27,” he said.
