MARUDI: The distance and travel time between Miri and Marudi will be shortened in the future after the new road construction project between the two is implemented.
According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Dr Pengguang Manggil stated the R5 standard road will be implemented under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP). The existing road will be maintained until the implementation of the said project.
“We will build a new R5 grade road from Miri to Marudi.
“I understand there are people asking when the project will start, but it will be implemented under 12MP,” said Penguang.
