Miri police say no report yet on alleged unsavoury incident

MIRI: An unsavoury incident allegedly occurred at the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) election operations room in Kampung Haji Wahed here.

According to sources, the incident happened around 12pm, Wednesday (Nov 16), where a group of supporters, believed to be from the opposition, came to the operations room.

Meanwhile, Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said as of 3.45pm, Today (Nov 17), no police reports had been received from both parties involved in the alleged incident.

It was believed that things got heated when supporters from the opposiiton were denied entry into the operations room.

Some had uttered obscenities at a man believed to be in charge of the operations room while several others were filming the incident.

Displeased after being told to leave as it was a restricted area, the supporters of the opposition started to provoke the man.

Feeling mistreated, they uploaded a video on the incident.

However, it was believed that the video was only a part of the recorded incident and not the full version.
