MIRI: Narcotics police busted a mini drug lab located in a house in Jalan Luak here.
They seized nearly RM409,917 worth of drugs in the form of ecstasy pills and ketamine, and other properties.
Sarawak deputy police commissioner Datuk Dev Kumar M.M. Sree said last Sunday’s seizure was one of the largest in the state’s history.
The confiscated properties totalled RM93,987 —cash amounting to RM11,095, a gold bracelet worth RM4,892 and a wristwatch worth RM3,000 and two vehicles — a Chevrolet Orlando and a Toyota Camry.
He said police also seized two digital weighing scales, two blenders, three glass cylinders, a metal scoop, seven packets of icing sugar and various mixture of powder.
“We believe the lab has been up and running for some time,” he said during a press conference yesterday.
Inside the premises, police found 6,441 grammes of ecstasy and ketamine.
Police also raided a shophouse the same Sunday, detaining three individuals aged 32, 33 and 47.
The first and second suspects were arrested at a parking lot and five-foot way adjacent to the shophouse.
They later led police to the first floor of the premises where the third suspect was apprehended in the living room.
Dev said further arrests were expected in relation to the case.
The suspects will be remanded until Oct 7 and the case is being investigated under Section 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
They also tested positive for drug abuse.
