MIRI: A tuition centre here went up in flames above a pharmacy shop but the fire was able to be extinguished due to the quick action of the firefighters.
A spokesperson from Miri Central Fire and Rescue (Bomba) station said they received an emergency call at 1.30pm on Thursday (Feb 10).
“The State Bomba Operation Centre received the call and dispatched a team from Miri Central Bomba to the location at Jalan Boulevard.
“The team arrived at the scene at 1.34pm and was able to extinguish the fire,” said the spokesperson.
In addition, inspections by the team at the scene found that the tuition centre only suffered 30 per cent damage in a 20×20 room.
The operation ended at 2.50pm and the team left the scene, returning to the station.
