MIRI: The City is set to have another new tourism attraction with the upgrading of the Wireless Walk project, a popular food stalls and busking spot, to start soon.
Miri City Mayor, Adam Yii Siew Sang said that the upgrading project was expected to cost RM5 million with funding from the Tourism Ministry and implemented through Miri District Office.
“As the project to upgrade is about to start, Miri City Council (MCC) has issued a notice on February 5 2018 to all traders along Wireless Walk to relocate to a temporary site at the car parks next to Miri Outdoor Stadium by February 16 2018,” he added.
Yii revealed that some of the traders have already relocated but some dormant traders chose to abandon their stuff compelling MCC to remove them so that the site would be ready for the Wireless Walk upgrade contractor to move in and start work as soon as possible.
Wireless Walk is located in the heart of Miri City along Jalan North Yu Seng Road, one of the busiest roads in the city.
