KUCHING: The remains of a fisherman, who went missing after falling from his vessel at the Malaysian Fisheries Development Authority (LKIM) jetty in Tanjung Bako-Samarahan, have been found.

The Search and Rescue (SAR) team had resumed search on the third day of operation since Monday to locate the 40-year-old Thai national.

Fellow fishermen notified the Fire and Rescue Department when they came across a body floating about 100 metres from the SAR control post around 7.30am yesterday.

Firefighters fished out the body from the water and brought it to the jetty to be identified by his employer and crew members. They confirmed the body to be that of Akson Daengprasert.

The body was then handed over to the police to be taken to the Sarawak General Hospital’s mortuary.
