SERIAN: The body of a missing person, Domenick David, who left his residence in Kampung Lanchang to visit a durian orchard, was discovered in a bamboo thicket by the riverbank.

A report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) stated that they received a call at 6.29pm on Thursday (Jan 18), reporting the man, aged 56, missing in the Mirabak area.

Responding promptly on Friday (Jan 19), the Serian Bomba, in collaboration with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and the K9 Unit, initiated a search and rescue (SAR) operation based on preliminary information from the victim’s family.

“The search was strategically divided into two groups, covering the durian orchard and the riverbank area.
“The victim was successfully located by the Bomba K9 Tracker Unit at 9.50am in a bamboo thicket by the riverbank, approximately 4km from the village.

“Subsequently, the victim was brought ashore by the rescue team and later confirmed deceased by the police at the scene,” the report stated. The operation concluded at 11am.
