TATAU: A man reported missing after he fell into Sungai Tatau last Sunday (Sept 10) has been found dead yesterday (Sept 12).

A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the body of 36-year-old Iharani Kassim was found afloat near Batang Tatau bridge by an angler.

The discovery was made around 4.40 pm, at about 2 km from where the victim was reported to have fallen.

Rescuers were promptly deployed to the scene to retrieve the body which was handed over to the police to be taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.

The authorities ended the search at 6 pm.

Last Sunday, Iharani was reported missing after he fell into the river near Pasar Baru around 11 pm.

His family went to search for him but to no avail which prompted the family to file a missing person’s report.
