KUCHING: A local man, who went missing while searching for clams at a nearby river in Kampung Jaya Bakti, has been found safe but in a weak state.
The man identified as Mohd Fahiszuddin Iskandar, 29, was discovered by his father around 12.45 pm today (Feb 11).
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that he was found about 300 metres from their home.
The man was then brought back home and the search and rescue (SAR) operation at 2.30 pm.
Yesterday (Feb 10), Fahiszuddin had left for the river around 9am to gather clams but failed to return, prompting his father to report the incident at Batu Kawa police station around 1am.
Despite an initial search effort that lasted until 4 am, the operation was halted due to poor visibility.
However, it resumed at 9.30 am with the assistance of villagers along the riverbank.
