KUCHING: A teenager was found alive after he went missing while catching snails with his father at 3pm on Sunday. Jasson Jimbat Churka was found alive at noon on Monday near the area where he went missing the day before. Lundu police chief DSP Wong Chee Keong confirmed that the victim was found by the search team in a stable condition. Jasson, from Kpg Kangkar, Sempadi and his father scoured the sands of Simpang Sempadi, Lundu, for snails.

After a while, his father went back to the boat but his son was nowhere to be found. The father rushed home to their village when Jasson did not show up to seek the help of fellow villagers. When the kampung folk failed to locate the boy, they lodged a police report at 7pm on Sunday. A police party together with other agencies immediately launched a search and rescue operation.
