SIBU: A 24-year-old female, who was reported missing on June 5 has been found by the villagers on Thursday (June 6).

The victim identified as Oliviana Gindi, who is a person with special needs (OKU), was found in a very weak condition.

“She was reported missing on Wednesday and was found by the villagers of Rumah Nuang Sungai Nibong, Sibujaya, about 1km from the victim’s longhouse (Rumah Nuang at Jalan Durin).

“The victim was found to be in a weak condition,” said Sibu Police Chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted yesterday.

The victim was rushed to Sibu Hospital for a medical check-up.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the victim’s father lodged a police report after realising that Oliviana was not at home on June 5.

A search by the villagers was conducted on June 5, which failed to locate her.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was then conducted by Bomba, police, APM and villagers after the report was made.
