SERIAN: A woman who went missing after she was believed to have fallen into the Batang Sadong River was found drowned yesterday.

A spokesperson for the state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the deceased, identified as Siti Tamadalia Mothada, 29, was found at 11.53am.

“The victim was found 50 metres from where she was last seen (Kampung Pisang Jetty),” he added.

After receiving a report at 8.50am, a search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched by Simunjan fire station.

The search team comprised various agencies and villagers.

The body was handed over to the police for further action. The operation ended at 12.58pm.
