KEPALA BATAS: About 300 secondary school students around Bertam participated in the MNRB Ringgit Savvy programme, held in conjunction with the Malaysian Unit Trust Week (MSAM) 2023 at the main tent of the carnival site in Setia Fontaines, Bertam here.

Introduced in 2012, the programme which is organised by MNRB Holdings Berhad (MNRB) exposes secondary schoolchildren to smart money management.

It is also one of MNRB’s efforts to support MSAM’s objections to educate the community about financial planning and investments.

Through this programme, students are given early exposure to matters related to financial management such as investment, takaful protection and other financial responsibilities, further educating and instilling an interest in smart money management among students.

To further foster students’ interest towards smart money management, MNRB featured celebrity Naim Daniel to share his experiences in money management since his schooldays, apart from giving motivation to students on the importance of avoiding a bullying behaviour.

In addition to sharing sessions and money management tips, the MNRB Ringgit Savvy programme also placed importance on an interactive game MNRB Ringgit Journey, to apply the reality and challenges of financial management to students.

This game featured questions to test the skills and intelligence of students in making decisions related to money management methods as well as to instil the spirit of teamwork.

In line with the theme of MSAM 2023 that is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), students are also tested with various questions and challenges based on the subjects involved.

Meanwhile, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Sama Gagah and SMK Bandar Baru Perda were the programme’s champions this year. These two schools are the 10th champions of the MNRB Ringgit Savvy Programme since the programme’s inception.

MSAM is an annual investment education exhibition organised by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) since 2000.

This exhibition aims to educate Malaysians about smart investments and prudent financial planning. –  BERNAMA
