MIRI: Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Sarawak, Datuk Sebastian Ting on Sunday paid tribute to the Miri Red Crescent Society for consistently coming out every weekend to organise mobile blood donations.
He saluted their efforts when he turned up at a two-day Labour Day blood donation campaign organised by the MRCS Miri Branch Blood Donation Recruitment Committee and Miri Hospital Blood Bank.
He also encouraged the public to come forward to donate blood during this fasting month to maintain a stable supply of blood at the Miri Hospital Blood Bank.
Towards this end Ting extended a special thanks to two time blood donor Nur Bashirah for donating during the Ramadan fasting month and setting a good example.
A total 67 people donated their blood, including nine first time donors.
