SIBU: The mobile vaccination centre located behind the Rejang Medical Centre (RMC) here will be in service until this weekend.

Member of the Sibu District Disaster Management Committee (SSDMC), Senator Robert Lau revealed this after he monitored the vaccination process at the mobile unit on Monday.

“We decided to extend the service to give more time to the surrounding residents to get their vaccinations.

“The operating hours are still the same — from 5pm to 7pm,” he explained, adding that 50 residents from the Tiong Hua Zone received their jabs today.

Lau, who is also Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch chairman, added that the vaccination period in the zone had been extended because the area recorded the highest cumulative cases in the last two weeks.

To speed up the vaccination rollout, the mobile vaccination unit, he said, would move to other locations such as Tong Sang Zone.
