MUKAH: A local cooperative Koperasi Desa Lestari Tellian Tengah dan Tellian Ulu Mukah Berhad (Kodelt) has proposed to set up a modern and environment-friendly sago processing factory.
The place intended for such a factory is in Kampung Tellian Daya (Tellian Ulu), here.
It was one of a few business and strategic plans proposed by Kodelt in the Board Member’s Annual Report for Year 2019-2020, which was presented during its Sixth Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Dewan Suarah Mesra here on Saturday (Sept 26).
It was also reported that the proposal was in collaboration with Craun Research Sdn Bhd, and the status of its implementation now was at 25 percent.
The report also stated that the overall proposed project cost was RM8.875 million.
Kodelt secretary Jetson Jacob Lema Nawis said a site at Jalan Penakub near Sungai Melai in Kampung Tellian Daya had been identified for the purpose.
“Local people have also given green light to the proposal,” he said when clarifying the matter, which earlier on was mentioned by board member Ajahar Bakar when presenting the report at the AGM.
