SARIKEI: Three government aided schools (SBK) in Sarikei and Bintangor have received allocations from the Ministry of Education (MoE) for maintenance work.
Its Deputy Minister Lim Hui Ying said that the beneficiaries were Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Tong Hua, Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Tong Hua, and SJKC Bulat.
“I am here to announce that SJKC Tong Hua has received an allocation of RM140,000, SMK Tong Hua RM120,000, and SJKC Bulat RM100,000.
“So today, during my visit to Bintangor and Sarikei, MoE has disbursed a total of RM360,000 in funds,” she said at a press conference at SJKC Bulat following her working visit to the schools here today.
Lim said that her visit was a crucial part of the ongoing efforts to ensure these schools maintain conducive learning environment by utilising funds for the benefit of the entire school community.
“I have come here to monitor and observe the progress of maintenance work in all the involved schools.
“At the same time, I visited several government aided schools in response to a request from the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. MoE allocated RM70,000 to upgrade the toilets in these schools as part of this initiative,” she said.
