MoE disburses RM2.3 million to 23 Sarawak schools

SIBU: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has disbursed RM2.3 million to 23 schools in Sarawak.

According to its Deputy Minister, Lim Hui Ying, this amount includes allocations for government-aided schools (SBK)

“I visited 17 schools in Sarawak and allocated funds to 23 schools, we invited them (school representative) to school (we visited) to receive the allocation,” she said in a press conference after her working visit to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Saint Elizabeth here today.

Meanwhile, during the visit, Lim said that SMK Saint Elizabeth was the last school they visited for the 10-day working trip in Sarawak.

“Today in Sibu, the total amount allocated sums up to RM310,000. We allocated RM110,000 to SMK Elizabeth, RM100,000 for SJKC Tiong Hin, and RM100,000 for SJKC Thai Kwang,” she said.

She hoped that the schools will fully utilise the funds allocated by the federal government.
