The Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) has issued crucial recommendations to mitigate the risk of dementia, a syndrome characterised by gradual brain function decline.

They stressed the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition, physical and mental activity, as well as managing blood pressure.

In case of experiencing symptoms, the ministry advised to seek immediate medical attention, as shared by geriatric and psychogeriatric medical experts.

“Early treatment can slow down the progression of brain function decline and help maintain the ability to take care of oneself,” it said.
