Just half of Malaysia’s population, amounting to 16,335,353 individuals, have received the first booster dose, while a mere 2.5 percent, totaling 823,317 people, have received the second booster dose.
The ministry disclosed this in a statement, stressing the importance of taking booster doses to mitigate the risk of hospitalisation and the severity of COVID-19 symptoms.
Additionally, the MOH issued a reminder to the general public, urging them to consistently adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), including wearing face masks when utilising public services and visiting healthcare facilities.
