SIMANGGANG: Assistant Prison Commissioner (PKP) Mohd Nizar Abdullah has now become the head of the Sri Aman Central Prison (PPSA) after being appointed as its director.

According to him, this was his first transfer as the head of an institution.

“Although I have long served with the Malaysian Prison Department, this is my first experience being transferred as the head of an institution.

“Therefore, I need advice, guidance, and instruction from everyone, especially the Sarawak Prison director TKP Teyun Thian Eim,” he said during the Handover of Duties Ceremony at the PPSA Multipurpose Hall here today (July 2).

He reckoned that guidance and advice are important to ensure that the management of PPSA operates according to the right path and is able to achieve the vision and mission of the Malaysian Prison Department.

He thanked the former PPSA director, PKP Shahrin Nizam Ahmad, for his dedicated service while he was the director here.

“I will try to remain committed to performing my duties and responsibilities with trust, transparency, and integrity to ensure the aspirations of the Malaysian Prison Department are achieved,” he added.

Nizar replaced Shahrin after an official transfer order was issued on June 24.

The handover ceremony of the baton from Shahrin to Nizar was witnessed by Teyun.

For the record, Shahrin moved to the Puncak Borneo Central Prison after serving at PPSA for a year.
