MIRI: An adult monitor lizard stunned a young father and son at 10.30am yesterday when they were about to wash their car at Taman Bumiko.
Much to their shock, they found the reptile hiding inside the engine compartment of their car.
The 28-year-old man immediately called up Miri Civil Defence Force as he did not know how to get rid of the lizard without injuring or killing it.
Three firemen were rushed to the house at Jalan Bunga Raya 3 and the reptile was removed in less than 20 minutes.
