KUCHING: Parents are advised to monitor their children for a few days after they have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said this precaution should be taken in case of side effects or other issues which could occur.
“It is our responsibility to protect our children. Do not neglect their health and safety. Ensure that they also get the vaccine,” urged the Santubong MP in a Facebook post on Friday (Feb 4).
He noted that the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme for Kids (PICKids) had started on Thursday (Feb 3).
He said this programme was aimed at 4.1 million children aged between five and 11.
“I am sure parents will be relieved once their children are protected from the COVID-19 pandemic which has plagued our lives for over two years,” said Wan Junaidi.
