MIRI: The Montfort Youth Training Centre (MYTC) in Sabah is accepting applications for its five vocational training programmes, starting July.
MYTC’s two-year residential courses offered are Motor Vehicle Mechanics, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Furniture Making, Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanics, and Oil Palm Plantation Conductorship.
“We offer skill training and character formation opportunities for young people. We target youths between the ages of 16 and 22. Our target groups are orphans, youths from single parents, large and poor families, especially from the interiors of Sabah and Sarawak,” said MYTC director Frederick Mah.
MYTC is located in Kinarut, Sabah, and is an institution for Technical, Vocational, Education and Training (TVET).
The 23-year-old institution emphasises on a holistic approach in character building and behavioural development.
The all-rounded training programmes nurture living skills and are tailored to instil better character building in discipline, guidance, formation, soft and leadership skills. MYTC’s mission is to cultivate the importance of good attitudes and positive traits, which will nurture and transform the trainees to be resourceful.
