KUCHING: Pantai Damai is capable of producing more futsal players if futsal competitions are held regularly in the constituency.

Rural Electricity Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said every village in the Pantai Damai constituency should take the initiative to organise the competition.

In fact, he said, the competition can also help to prevent the youths from getting involved in unhealthy activities.

“We need to make sure that this futsal competition is able to produce new talents for promotion to the highest level.

“Not only to represent the Pantai Damai constituency but also to represent the state and country,” he said when declaring open a futsal court and Kampung Rampangi Phase 1 indoor futsal competition, last Saturday.

Dr Abdul Rahman who is also Pantai Damai assemblyman said the involvement of the younger generation in sports like futsal is important for them to remain physically and mentally fit.
