KOTA SAMARAHAN: Chairman of the Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), Datuk Peter Minos, is encouraging more Dayaks to establish enterprises other than food and beverages in Kota Samarahan.
Despite the hurdles ahead, he urged Dayak entrepreneurs to remain determined and ambitious in their careers.
“Many of the large and successful Chinese business groups began small and faced several issues and obstacles.
“Their tenacity, persistence, patience, and ardent desire to succeed aided them along the way.
“They deserve to be emulated,” he said.
Minos made the remarks while attending the sixth anniversary celebration of Rumah Asap, a Dayak dining centre in Kota Samarahan.
He was relieved to discover that the food centre had survived the COVID-19 pandemic and was functioning well.
“Rumah Asap, which is now six years old and is operated and managed by a Dayak group, was the first to be established in Kota Samarahan.”.
He added that despite numerous hurdles and setbacks, the Rumah Asap group persevered and is now enjoying a big success.
